Health Tips for those who want to remain slim, fit and healthy in their 40’s, 50’s 60’s and beyond.

Over Weight

So why do people think they are Fat or why do people become overweight?
Some peole are fat or overweight for one main reason, they eat a lot or they eat too much Junk food, which causes them to be fat or overweight.
Other reasons are addiction to carbohydrate food (starchy food) snack foods, or sweets.
Scientists now know about a prevalent hormonal imbalance that leads to carbohydrate cravings and weight gain –literally turning your body into a fat –making machine.

Recommended Low –fat, Low salt, and other healthy diets
Eat a variety of foods
Vary your cravings –reducing foods by choosing from an assortment of salad items, vegetables, proteins, and dairy items.
In addition to cravings reducing foods, your reward meals should contain a variety of carbohydrates –rich foods, including grains, starches, additional dairy choices, fruit’s, juices and ‘’healthy ‘’deserts.

Reduce consumption of fat (especially saturated fat) and cholesterol.
 When appropriate, as directed by your Doctor, replace eggs with egg substitutes and use low-cholesterol margarine and cooking oil in place of butter.
You can also use low-fat or skim milk, low fat or low cholesterol cheeses, sour cream, cream cheese and whipped cream substitutes.
You can substitute higher fat meats, with fish or chicken or turkey without skin, or choose very lean cuts of meat, trimmed of all fat.
Substitute turkey for beef and pork in burgers and sausage.

Use low- cholesterol mayonnaise. When you use oil, choose olive oil instead of heavy tropical or other saturated oils.
